REVIEW: Laura Mercier Artist's Palette For Eyes

Top Row Swatches:
Left to right:  Sparkling Dew, Guava, African Violet, Plum Smoke, Kir Royal, Violet Ink

Bottom Row Swatches:
Left to right:  Vanilla Nuts, Primrose, Fresco, Bamboo, Truffle, Espresso Bean

Overview:  This palette contains 12 matte and shimmer shades of vanillas, plums, and rich browns.  Surprisingly there are 6 highly pigmented matte shadows and the rest are sparkly colors without the heavy fallout and glitter.  NO ONE will look like a shiny disco ball with these vibrant colors.  Since Fall is almost over, this palette can still transition into the coming Winter months and well into Spring.

What's so unique about this palette?  It's only available for a limited time and the eyeshadows have a smooth/velvety texture.  It's very difficult sometimes to find rich plums, browns, and purples with a warmer undertone.  It will especially complement med to darker complexions who have a hard time getting great color payoff with mainstream eyeshadow palettes.

Pros:

-Excellent variation of mattes and high shine shimmer shades.
-Elegant packaging with a thick textured case that's perfect for holiday travel.
-Wide length mirror for quick makeup application on-the-go.

Cons:

-For some, the price tag of $55.
-Limited edition but Sephora re-vamped the palette and it's now in a different packaging.
